Transportation across the Great Lakes.

Our flatbed and box trucks haul totes for our own sales — and for outside customers when there's capacity.

Our fleet

  • Flatbed (48-ft): 22 caged composite IBCs single-stacked. Used for our own runs and outside contracts.
  • Box truck (26-ft): 6–9 IBCs single-stacked, or 12–16 double-stacked when load allows. Used for local pickups.
  • Pickup with trailer: 2–6 totes for small-area runs.

Service area

Our standard service area is the Great Lakes basin: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and the western half of Pennsylvania and New York. We run weekly through this region — your move likely slots into an existing route.

Outside that area we partner with three Midwest LTL carriers we've worked with for years. Freight quotes are pass-through.

Pricing

  • Local pickup (under 45 minutes): $85–$125 flat, up to 9 totes.
  • Regional (45 min–4 hours): $2.20/mile + $35/tote handling, minimum 8 totes.
  • Full flatbed (22 totes): $1,400–$2,400 depending on distance and lane.
  • LTL (Less Than Truckload, via partner carriers): $140–$340 per pallet position, pass-through.

What we can and can't haul

  • Empty totes — anywhere, any quantity.
  • Totes containing water or food-grade content — fine.
  • Totes containing fertilizer, soap base, mild ag chemistry — fine with paperwork.
  • Hazmat — only by qualified carrier with placards. We'll refer you.

Same-day & rush

We can usually do same-day local pickup if you email before 11 a.m. Rush scheduling for next-day regional moves: $150 surcharge.

Transportation — flatbeds and LTL

The long-form file.

We run our own flatbeds across the Great Lakes for tote moves. For longer hauls or small partials, we coordinate LTL through trusted carriers. Either way, no broker markup.

Deep dive

The detail behind the surface.

§ 01

When LTL, when flatbed

The crossover is around 18–22 totes on a typical Midwest lane. Below that, LTL is cheaper. Above that, flatbed is cheaper.

Worked example: Cleveland → Chicago at 350 miles.

  • 14 totes LTL: ~$550–$700
  • 24 totes LTL: ~$850–$1,200
  • 24 totes flatbed: ~$850–$1,100
  • 30 totes flatbed: ~$850–$1,100 (same as 24, capacity not utilization)

If you can wait a week, we can sometimes combine two orders in your area into a single flatbed and split the cost. Email if your timeline is flexible.
